This multidisciplinary medical institution, located in a picturesque park in the centre of Munich, was the result of a merger between four hospitals in 2005.
It boasts a number of highly specialised departments which apply the latest technologies and developments in the fields of oncology, haematology, immunology, palliative medicine, cardiology, endocrinology, orthopaedics, and more.
There is also a centre for paediatric medicine, run jointly with the Rechts der Isar University Hospital. Young patients can be diagnosed and treated for disorders in all areas of medicine, from neonatology to traumatology. The centre has all the necessary facilities required to make a child's stay comfortable and worry-less. The complex has a garden and park, playrooms and playgrounds. Clown visits, drama performances and concerts are organised weekly and contribute to a speedy recovery.
The institution holds under its roof one of the largest centres for haematology and oncology in Germany, where benign and malignant neoplasms are treated with modern methods such as stem cell transplantation and targeted chemotherapy.
It is also home to the only centre for infectious diseases and tropical medicine in Bavaria, which specialises in infectious diseases of any complexity, including Ebola. More than 125,000 people visit the clinic every year.
